Youles Motorcycles stock Abus and Triumph Locks with a few carefully selected locks from Oxford Products. Unfortunately your motorcycle or scooter is desirable to thieves and he or she wants to relieve you of its ownership.
Safety options for your Motorcycles
Reality dictates that buying a lock is a very sensible thing to do. My advice is always lock your Motorcycle / Scooter. Never even leave it where you can see it with without at least a good quality disc lock on it. Your insurance excess is probably upwards of two hundred and fifty pounds so buying the best lock or locks you can possibly afford is well worth every penny.
I have a variety of locks and have left my bike locked in some pretty dodgy areas. But with two or even three locks on its always been there on my return.
How to lock my Motorcycle or Scooter
Preferably around the back wheel and to something like a railing. Both our Blackburn and Manchester stores have hoops at the front of the store by the entrance to the building that are there for your to lock your bike to, with many other establishments having the same.
If you're out and about look for some street furniture to lock your bike or if your out in a group then lock your bikes together. A bike that is covered as well as locked is much less likely to get stolen we stock a good range of bike covers here at Youles Motorcycles.
If you're at home or your place of work seek permission to fit a ground anchor and lock your Motorcycle or Scooter to this. Don't forget to put the steering lock on as well I have sometimes overlooked this and it's easy to do. Always check the lights are off before leaving the bike.
The idea is that the harder you make it the less likely it is to be your bike that is stolen as the thief will just move onto the next machine.
At Youles Motorcycles we offer a range of security products for motorbikes including locks, tracker security and ground anchors. If you have any questions about your bike security, please contact us today.
