JOB TITLE: Apprentice Service Advisor

RESPONSIBLE TO: After Sales Manger


You will be based at our recently re furbished Manchester Triumph World Black store joining our experienced after sales team. We are looking for somebody that is obsessed with motorcycles a passing interest will not suffice. Ideally this person will either ride a small capacity machine on the road, partake in off road riding or have an interest in vintage motorcycles. We would expect them to be mechanically minded and carry out some basic maintenance on their own machine.

You will take part in the Triumph online customer service apprenticeship. The facility to carry out the college aspect of your apprenticeship is all online. You will be mentored and lead through this training by our after sales manager. This twelve month course completes with an end point assessment that grades you as fail pass or distinction. From there you will be encouraged to partake in further training and become a competent service advisor. Your experience in this role has the possibility of opening other opportunities within Youles Motorcycles. We prefer to recruit internally. Someone with a good work ethic and an ability to deal with the general public would be ideally placed to eventually move into a sales role or managerial position.

You will start on £5.00 an hour and can expect incremental increases on annual basis subject to you completing that years course.





The successful applicant is expected to be a good communicator and have a willingness to learn. A polite and helpful manner together with a keen interest in motorcycles is essential. Joining the Youles Sales Team as our trainee you will be taught by our experienced sales professionals. They will coach and mentor you enabling you to maximize the opportunity that business can offer you. Whilst previous sales experience in the motor trade is not a required some form of experience at dealing with the general public would definitely be an advantage. This position would ideally suit someone that has a retail or hospitality background. However, there is no reason why you couldn’t be a person that wants a totally different direction and change in career as experience from a whole host of industries would put you in a good position.

You will very quickly help increase the sales of Triumph,Suzuki, Piaggio, Gilera, Vespa, and late used bikes. We will help by supplying a large amount of online training in both products and services offered by Youles Motorcycles and the manufacturers that we support. Eventually, you will take qualifications in vehicle finance and also attend manufacturer training. You will also be required to project the company’s values on customer service and above all be honest and extremely self-motivated.

Your job location will be at our Blackburn Store, Pendle St BB1 1NG. Weekend work will be required - this is on a rotating system. Some weekends you will work Saturday only others Sunday only and one weekend Saturday and Sunday.

Hours of business are weekdays 8.30hrs to 18.00hrs, Saturdays 8.30hrs to 17.00hrs and Sundays 10.30hrs to 16.30hrs. Holiday entitlement will be 20 days plus bank holidays. Extra days are available for taking time off in winter and long service

Your remuneration will be a basic salary of £18500 plus commission on sales. You would expect to have an OTE of £32000 in your first year. Your basic salary and will be reviewed annually. With the right attitude and ability, you should be earning £38000 by the end of your second year. A generous staff purchase scheme exists that enables parts clothing and new motorcycles to be purchased at trade or below prices. The company also contributes to a stakeholder pension scheme with extra payments for long service. This is a full-time position that will enable you to become a key member of the aftersales team.

You will be situated on the service reception and will be trained in how to ensure the customer is welcomed appreciated and made to feel comfortable, whilst focusing on the following areas of the business

Parts Clothing and Accessory sales, both online, in-store, and over the telephone

Booking in and processing parts deliveries/stock control

Service advisor, qualifying customer’s service needs, through to booking in appointment, and final invoice

Support the Motorcycle sales team when required during Busy Periods

We are recruiting the attitude and will train the skills. Your attitude to customer satisfaction and your ability to ensure that the customer is being treated in a manner that you would expect is essential. This role would suit someone with a background in retail or hospitality that wants to progress into a more detailed technical and therefore rewarding position. Good communication is essential along with a can-do attitude and a willingness to learn. You will be expected to use your initiative and create opportunities. Your input into the running of the department will be valued.

It is desirable that you have knowledge of the motorcycle market and a full motorcycle license, however, this is not essential. Although knowledge of our dealer management software is not necessary a level of computer literacy will be an advantage.

Remuneration will be based on previous customer-facing experience and will be discussed at interview. Youles Motorcycles is at the front of modern motorcycle retailing and our team enjoys giving exceptional customer service. As franchised dealers for Triumph Piaggio Suzuki and Vespa, we have two sites and thirty-seven years of experience to offer.

Your hours of work will be 9.00-1800 hrs during the week 9.00-17.00hrs on a Saturday and 10.30-16.30 on a Sunday. A rota system exists which enables one weekend worked followed by one weekend off. There are also days off during the week to facilitate this.
